Say the difficult sentence here first.

A sentence you say at the top travels down to the whole team. Closing a position, questioning a success a manager has claimed as their own, defending a decision you disagree with: you have these conversations here first, with a character who pushes back.

  • Sometimes the person opposite you is not an employee but a manager who reports to you.
  • There is also a track for crisis and bad-news communication that starts with Eda’s lesson.
  • How many credits it takes varies from track to track; each one’s card shows it.

Koray is speaking

Listen; when they finish, you carry on.

With a manager, as their manager

Example, Koray: with his team he cut the roll-out time from twelve days to eight, but he told senior management the story as if he had done the work alone.

  1. Koray tells his story

The conversation opens with his first sentence. The results are real; but he doesn’t say that Ece prepared the process flow, Ali the dashboard and Merve the training.

  2. You ask

If you move on with general praise, his story doesn’t change. By asking about concrete data and behaviour, you separate his contribution from the team’s work, without backing him into a corner.

  3. The Coach opens with questions

The Coach doesn’t tell you the right answer. It has you find, in your own words, the difficult moment, your intention, the one moment that worked and your focus for the next attempt.

A rehearsal is training; it does not replace a real performance or HR process.

Rehearsing with no one watching

At senior level there are few places where you can try a difficult conversation out loud: you don’t rehearse in front of your team, and you can’t ask someone for advice every time.

No audio recording is kept here; the conversation’s transcript is processed only for the Coach’s review. If your company uses Atlas Talks, the organisation sees only usage and whether you reached the goal, not what you talked about; the content of the review never opens.
